Who am I?

I am a seeker of inspiration from the great outdoors, a proud worker of the family farm, an eternal student of yoga, and a teacher of timber engineering.

A professional career has taken me to Tampere University, where I am currently working on my Doctoral thesis related to timber and steel engineering. Whereas, my personal career has taken me from the mat of yoga to the highs of the mountains. The rhythm of the year is now driven by freeride skiing, rock climbing, and farm work.

For many years, Ylläs has been the base camp for freeride skiing because from there it is easy to visit the Northern part of Norway, such as Lyngen and Tamokdalen. On the contrary, southern Spain has emerged as our preferred rock-climbing destination to escape the gloom of autumn in Helsinki. Or, more accurately, the grey months between autumn and winter.

I have been dreaming of taking photographs for many years, and finally, at the beginning of winter 2023, I purchased my first camera. The website tells stories of adventures that have been told through the images. I hope it inspires you to pursue your dreams and passions, even if they seem obscure now.

Ylläs 2023,

Aku
